April 22 - April 26

Mcmahon's, naturally.

Happy Easter!

Azaleas from Fresh Picked.

Sushi! Albeit a roll without any actual raw fish. I think this was avocado and smoked salmon? Either way, it was tasty.

April 18 - April 21

 Tulips on 11th Street.

Neighborhood artwork.

More neighborhood artwork (dried and permanent).

A little hair updo. Pretty easy actually: just two braided pig-tails, tied in a not and bobby pinned. Voila!

April 13 - April 17

Blood oranges for blood orange sorbet! To date, I think it is the best thing I've made with the icre cream maker. I used David Leibovitz's recipe, though I have switched to store-bought blood orange juice (much easier than hand-squeezing) and I've learned to cut the sugar in half. I've made this sorbet easily half a dozen times so far.

The view from my office! Practice in session.

My peace lily. These make excellent office plants, because they are very hard to kill. In my old office in Greensboro, I had no windows. When I left for the weekend, I'd drop off my plant in a co-worker's office across the hall for two days of sunlight, then pick it up Monday morning, give it about 12 ounces of water, and that's it. The lily was HUGE and blossomed practically every month. I left it behind when I moved, but picked up this little guy a few weeks ago. I kid you not, that blossom has been going for about eight weeks now!

We got cable!

Sunday afternoon snack. Yes please.

April 5 - April 12

I know I've been slow in posting these pics, but I promise I'm still taking them every day!

I got a second monitor at work. woot!

 Frittata ingredients.

Gamecocks represent!

Oh my. Let me just say that in the month since I took this photo, I gained four pounds. The ice cream machine is a wonderful but deadly addition to our kitchen. I manged to make pineapple habanero sorbet, coffee ice cream, raspberry ice cream, blood orange sorbet, mango kiwi sorbet, vanilla frozen yogurt, strawberry sorbet, mint ice cream, chocolate chip cookie dough ice cream, orange creamsicle ice cream, AND avocado ice cream so far. And my waistline is showing it. I have since taken a month-long hiatus from the ice cream maker, but the ice-cream-itch is strong.

Rudy cuddled under the warm laundry. He looks good in purple!

Classy mugs for sale in the Hoboken Museum gift shop.

Another shot of college nostalgia. I need to break out the hat more often I think.

Another Rudy shot, to highlight how fat he is.
