August 8 - August 15

Colin's tomato plant is actually making tomatoes!

The Hoboken Biergarten FINALLY OPENED! We went on the very first night and loved it.

More free books form work. And this one was an advance copy! The Night Circus was really fascinating and ten bucks says they'll make it a movie by 2013.

Storm clouds rollin' in.

Weekend at Grandpop's house! Colin worked on perfecting his backflip.

Side trip to Philly to visit Logan and Andy!

After leaving Rudy for a long weekend, Colin likes to greet him by singing the opening song from The Lion King.

Asian pork chops with garlic edamame and jasmine rice. It's like a real dinner!

August 1 - August 7

Our office expanded onto a new floor, complete with new awesome kitchen!!

The view from the new cafeteria downstairs. There's huge picture windows all along the east and south sides.

When we emptied our drawers for the move down do the 15th floor, I realized some people use their filing cabinets for files! Can you believe it?

The view from the south end of the caf. Newark is not so bad from this angle.

Dacey's Tenth Annual Lakehouse weekend! Plenty of supplies on hand.

Three-Man partners.

Home again after a rain-soaked but fun-filled weekend.

July 24 - July 31

Rudy is a weird weird cat. He likes to sit in the bathtub sometimes.

A little late-night snack for Colin.

The view from the car when coming into north Hoboken.

Yet again, Taco Truck makes an appearance on my desk. Their Ensalata Frutero is AMAZING.

I got a bit obsessed with The Good Wife. I managed to watch all of season one and two in the span of about three weeks. Can't wait until September for it to come back on the air!

Still working on that inside-out french braid. This one came out a liiiiitle bit crooked.

Dacey's keggerator. All of your arguments are invalid.

Pool day at Pasky's! Where we spent the better part of the afternoon debating the age of the hot lifeguard, only to determine when we left that she was definitely still in high school and we all were pervs.

July 18 - July 23

A belated birthday present for Colin: a longboard. Look at that grin!

New glasses! And for only fifteen bucks! Check out Zenni Optical next time you need new specs.

I dropped the tray of coffee ice cubes. And then I mopped. But first I took this picture.

This was the week that Jersey had record breaking heat. Rudy dealt with it by lying across the kitchen floor and not moving unless absolutely necessary.

Todd came to visit!

What weekend is complete without a visit to McMahons?

July 8 - July 17

Cape Cod Vacation!

Packing up the night before. Necessities first: beach towel, big floppy hat, and eight books.

Out at the Woodshed on our first night. Papa Fink and Aunt Naomi were in town for the weekend and able to join us.

Happy Birthday, Colin! Have some lobstah.

Colin working on some sweet moves on the float.

New favorite place to get a lobster roll: The snack shack at Sesuit Harbor. (We might have gone more than once...)

A little champagne and strawberries on the deck.

At the Beachcomber in Wellfleet. I forget what the name of my drink is, but I remember that it was delicious and dangerous. Colin's got a pina colada (very manly).

Colin's idea of chilling on the beach includes GMAT practice exams.

Toes in the water, ass in the sand...

I've been thinking about what I want to write for July 17. It was our last day of vacation, we'd had perfect weather the entire trip, and we both agree it was one of the best weeks we've ever had. However, the whole week, in the back of our minds, we were thinking about Colin's grandmother, Gam. She had been sick for the past eight months and was deteriorating quickly. Every time the phone rang, we braced ourselves for the bad news. About an hour after we arrived back home in Hoboken, the phone call finally came. It was a sad day, but I'm glad we had such a wonderful week at the Cape. It was great to be able to talk about Gam and how much she loved it up there, and to have such good memories of her birthday party at the Cape house last year. It will be hard to go back, but I will always think of Gam when I see those beautiful hydrangea bushes.

July 1 - July 7

We had a huge promotion at work. Samuel L. Jackson narrated Go the F**k to Sleep for us, and we gave away copies for free. We "sold" over half a million copies! To celebrate, everyone in the company got GTFTS t-shirts. That's my co-worker Carlos and I, rocking our shirts on the same day.

Pool day at Pasky's! Smile, Pask. ("I am smiling!" - John Pasquariello)

Rudy sitting pretty.

Happy Fourth of July! We snuck up to the roof with friends to catch the show.

Colin claims he doesn't like Rudy, but that is obviously a lie.

I was trying to take a picture of my inside-out french braid, and Rudy photobombed me.

Happy 4th Birthday Rudy! May you live for another twenty years.

June 25 - June 30

Gays can now marry in New York state! But not in New Jersey, where I took this photo from.

Old man softball championships: Colin at bat.

TACO TRUCK CATERED OUR OFFICE LUNCH! I was so excited that I forgot to take pics of my tacos before I ate them. The guac and rice and beans were tasty though!

Eye check-up  = stoner pupils.

Rudy's nail caps. Green and festive.

End of the month means time for a new rail pass. July gets in the patriotic spirit.
