Nov 11 - Nov 15

Rudy got stuck in a plastic bag. Does it make me a horrible cat mom that I spent ten minutes taking pictures of him before I helped him out?

Ran into a bunch of kids form the 'burbs at the biergarten.

A nice fall-themed wreath on a door down the street.

Rudy likes to pretend he's a leopard.

I was at the Javits Center in New York for a seminar, and took a walk through the garment district during my lunch break. Lisa Frank in full effect!

Nov 06 - Nov 10

Phil ran the NYC marathon!

Cold season in full effect at 1013 Park.

Fun with Instagram on my iPhone.

This is the poster for a sitcom about three couples who can't play bocce ball.

Laser Cat!!

Nov 01 - Nov 05

This photo is terrible due to the low light and the fact that I took it in a mirror covered with dust, but it's a photo I've tried to get a dozen times and it never comes out any better. When I come home from work, Rudy likes to jump on my back and give me a nuzzle. I'm sure what I'm interpreting as true love is really just him saying "Gross, you smell like the outside world. Come here so I can rub my kitty smell all over you so that I can stand to be around you."

One of the last days to catch the sunset on my way home. Now that DST has ended, it's dark by the time I get off the train.

Na na na na na na na na na na na na na na na na BATMAN! (... the movie was filming in Newark.)

Officially at ten inches!! SO EXCITED to chop it off and donate it. I think I'll give it another month but it's definitely getting the axe before Christmas.

Interpretive dance party!

Oct 27 - Oct 31

This doesn't photograph well, but it's pork chops with a dry coffee rub. I liked it but Colin felt it was a bit too strong.

Every once in a while my co-workers decide we need a group lunch outing. We headed to Joe's Crab Shack to celebrate a few belated/early birthdays and escape the office for a bit.

Lots of things happened on Oct 29. Colin ran the HoBooken 5k in 37 degrees and freezing rain. Then it started to honest-to-god snow. Then we got locked out of the apartment in the snow (my fault). And later in the evening we got dressed up and venutred into the ghost town of Hoboken. Brett abandoned his original costume (a pink bowtie and cater-waiter clothes from Party Down) and went as Alshon Jeffries. Colin and I were Peter Pan and Tiger Lily. And Sean and Laura were Coach and Mrs. Taylor from Friday Night Lights. Hence why Sean isn't smiling, "Because Coach doesn't smile."

And by the next day, most of the snow had melted.

For Halloween, I leave you this photo of what I initially thought was a creepy Halloween decoration but turns out to be an even creepier "art" installation.

Oct 22 - Oct 26

Sean and Laura treated us to dinner at Dino & Harry's. Though I think it was mostly a treat for Sean and Colin...

Colin made a bangin' salad with the leftover steak, including avocado, homemade balsamic vinaigrette, and homemade candied walnuts!

Angry dude who proliferates Newark. I think of him as Grumpy Max from Where The Wild Things Are.

Not the greatest photo, nor the most flattering. I had wicked pain in the soles of my feet for about a week after practicing the route for the HoBookeen 5k. Colin taped me up and it helped. Thanks Coach!

West Five decided to go for "Super Creepy" when doing their Halloween decorations this year.

Oct 17 - Oct 21

A dragon lives on Washington Street.

Oh Wodka, such a good sport. I promise we didn't leave her like this :)

I AM OFFICIALLY AN IPHONE OWNER. Never going back.

Homemade ice cream for this first time in six months. Strawberry and vanilla!

Happy birthday (cake) Dave!

Oct 13 - Oct 16

Engagement week part two. Finally got to eat at ABBA. It's sort of Thai-meets-Cape-Cod food. I got the shrimp and lobster pad thai and it was AMAZING. Good enough that I'm sharing the picture even though it's pretty low-quality.

Gotta love the decor in the bathroom at the Woodshed.

Wellfleet OysterFest! Note our new friend who photobombed in the background :) Also note my ring on my middle finger, because it turns out I am not a size 6 like I always thought, but more light a tight size 5. I didn't get it resized until I got back home, so I wore it on my middle finger until then.

Last morning = breakfast at the Brewster Coffee Shop. Colin doesn't ever look at the menu, since he always orders the same thin: cranberry blueberry pancakes.

Oct 08 - Oct 12

I'm pretty sure my blog is going to have a little higher traffic than usual this week, because:

It's got the pics from engagement week! And yes, I am calling it engagement week because Colin proposed on the first morning of our week-long vacation in Cape Cod.

We walked back to the spot where we got engaged the next day to take pictures, since on the actual day I was un-showered, my hair was in a headband, and I didn't have my glasses (just sunglasses). That's why you only get the hand photo for Oct 08 :)

And to really make the week awesome, RUDY CAUGHT A MOUSE. We love taking Rudy on vacation. We don't care if that makes us crazy cat people. And besides, he earned it this year.

Traditional beach fire night. Beer, champagne, and s'mores.

We also have a tradition of renting bikes and riding to Nauset Beach. It's about six miles each way, and we take the Cape Cod Rail Trail. Maybe one year we'll take it all the way to Provincetown!

Oct 01 - Oct 07

Catching the Gamecocks game.

Mmmm pomegranate seeds.

October = time to break out the wool bag!

One of my favorite buildings in Hoboken, at 11th & Bloomfield.

Stop at nothing!

The Conan blimp over the kickball field.

Special delivery from Cool Cyber Cats! (It was Rudy's nail caps)
